Children & Family Support Services
Helping Families Grow Safely and Confidently
DSS Collective delivers safeguarding‑led, trauma‑informed support for children and families across community, home, centre‑based, and hospital settings. Our work is guided by over 20 years of clinical and social care experience and delivered in close partnership with Local Authorities and multi‑agency professionals.
What Is Children & Family Support?
Children & Family Support Services provide structured, professional interventions that help families maintain safe relationships, develop parenting skills, and meet children’s needs in line with safeguarding expectations. These services combine supervised contact, practical parenting support, and capacity‑building work to promote stability, strengthen family connections, and support positive outcomes.
Commissioning & Referrals
DSS Collective delivers Family Time Supervision through formal commissioning arrangements with local authorities. We do not accept direct referrals from families.
What We Provide
Supervised Contact
We deliver supervised contact in community locations, centre‑based environments, and hospital settings. Sessions are professionally monitored to ensure children remain safe, emotionally supported, and able to maintain meaningful relationships with family members when unsupervised contact is not appropriate.
Contact & Relationship Rebuilding
Where appropriate, we facilitate supported contact to help rebuild trust, strengthen attachment, and promote positive interaction between children and their parents or wider family network. Practitioners guide communication, model healthy relational behaviours, and help families develop confidence in their interactions.
Parenting Capacity Observations
We carry out structured, objective observations to understand a parent’s ability to meet their child’s needs, focusing on emotional availability, responsiveness, safe care, and the consistency of routines and boundaries. These assessments are aligned with statutory expectations and provide clear, evidence‑based insight to support social care planning and decision‑making.
Modelling Safe Care, Routines & Boundaries
Our practitioners work directly alongside parents and carers to demonstrate safe, developmentally appropriate care, modelling consistent routines, positive behaviour management, and nurturing, attuned responses. This practical guidance helps families build confidence, strengthen their caregiving skills, and create stable, predictable home environments.
Practical Parenting Support
We provide hands‑on, tailored support to help parents manage the daily demands of caring for their children, including routines, school readiness, healthy habits, household organisation, and emotional regulation strategies. Our approach is strengths‑based and solution‑focused, ensuring support is relevant, accessible, and responsive to each family’s unique circumstances.
Written Session Summaries & Outcome Reporting
All work is recorded clearly and consistently, with session summaries, observational notes, and outcome‑focused reports available where required. This professional documentation supports transparency, strengthens multi‑agency communication, and contributes to effective safeguarding and care planning.
Relationship Building
Supports stronger parent-child bonds through guided interaction, trust-building, and connection.
Risk Reduction
Prevents care entry by addressing behavioural challenges and safeguarding concerns early on.
Collaborative Support
Delivers tailored interventions with professionals to meet families’ unique support needs effectively.
